No one sits with him, he doesn’t fit in
But we feel like we do when we make fun of him
Cause you want to belong do you go along
Cause his pain is the price paid for you to belong
It’s not like we hate him or want him to die
But maybe he goes home and thinks suicide
Or he comes back to school with a gun at his side
And a kindness from you might have saved his life

Heroes are made when you make a choice
You could be a hero
Heroes do what’s right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what’s right for what’s right for what’s right

No one talks to her, she feels so alone
She’s in too much pain to survive on her own
The hurt she can’t handle overflows to a knife
She writes on her arm, wants to give up her life
Each day she goes on is a day that she is brave,
Fighting the lie that giving up is the way,
Each moment of courage her own life she saves
When she throws out the pills a hero is made

Heroes are made when you make a choice
You could be a hero
Heroes do what’s right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what’s right for what’s right for what’s right

No one talks to him about how he lives
He thinks that the choices he makes are just his
Doesn’t know he’s a leader with the way he behaves
And others will follow the choices he’s made
He lives on the edge, he’s old enough to decide
His brother who wants to be him is just nine
He can do what he wants because it’s his right
The choices he makes change a nine year old’s life

Heroes are made when you make a choice
You could be a hero
Heroes do what’s right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what’s right for what’s right for what’s right

These are the lyrics to the song Hero by SuperChic[k]. During second quarter, for english, Mrs. Parker had us do a project called Soundtrack of Your Life. For the project you had to make a cover for a CD and a list of songs on the back. You also had to use a visual aide to show at least one of the songs and why it was improtant to your life. Most people did a PhotoStory. I was one of those people. After I watched my project a couple of times during christmas break, I thought the song that I should have used instead of the one I did (Christmas Shoes by Newsong). Hero was that song. I was first introduced to SuperChic[k] while I was at a friend of our families house. I wouldn’t call me being there exactly an intervention, but I was at a low point in my life and I needed help that I wasn’t getting at home. so me and my mom agreed I should go and live with this friend for a while. She helped me to lose weight, because if I would have stayed at home, I would be a lot bigger than I am today. I am by no means skinny right now, but I have a feeling I would be a lot bigger with out her help. One day I was upset and wanted to go home (I get homesick very easily) and Ruth( the person I was staying with) gave me a CD and told me to listen to track number 5. I did and it was this song. It made me think about alot of the things that were going on in my life, and I realized I was up there for the betterment of me, and that everything would be alright. After the last post about Yesterday, this song came to mind.
